Every year we receive Christmas cards from friends. Christmas is a fantastic time of year to write about what has happened over the year and share news and encouragement with friends. If you are anything like me, you like to add bible verses for cards but always come up blank. So, to help you out, I want to share with you 15+ Christmas verses for cards.

20 Christmas verses for cards

1. Verses that direct us to God for our needs

Romans 15:13 May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

 Colossians 1:11   “May you be strengthened with all power, according to his glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy,”

2. Verses about God’s ability

Mark 10:27 Jesus looked at them and said, ‘With man it is impossible, but not with God. For all things are possible with God.’

 2 Corinthians 12:9-10 “But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.”

 Ephesians 2:8-9 “For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.”

3. Verses about Trusting in God

Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.

Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

 2 Corinthians 5:7 “For we walk by faith, not by sight.”

1 Peter 5:7 Casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.

Psalm 107:1 Give thanks to the LORD for He is good: His love endures forever.

 1 Corinthians 10:13 “No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.”

Psalm 117:1-2 “Praise the Lord, all nations! Extol him, all peoples! For great is his steadfast love toward us, and the faithfulness of the Lord endures forever. Praise the Lord!” –

5. Verses to chase away our fears

Isaiah 41:10 Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

 Psalm 27:1 “The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?”

Philippians 4:13 “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

6. Getting Strength from The Lord

Exodus 15:2 “The Lord is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation; this is my God, and I will praise him, my father’s God, and I will exalt him.” 

 Psalm 29:11 “May the Lord give strength to his people! May the Lord bless his people with peace.”

Isaiah 40:31 But they who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.

7. Christmas verses for cards: Reminders to Stand Firm

1 Corinthians 15:58 Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the LORD, knowing that in the LORD your labor is not in vain.

1 Corinthians 16:13-14 Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong. Let all that you do be done in love.

  10. In this part of the world, this time of the year, Pomegranates are fruiting all over. I love this verse from Song of Solomon – a verse for your special loved one.

    “Let us go out early to the vine-gardens; let us see if the vine is in bud, if it has put out its young fruit, and the pomegranate is in flower. There I will give you my love.”
