10 things Creation teaches us about God’s Character

Some people may say God hides from us, but The Bible says that if we seek God, He will reveal Himself. I believe He reveals Himself in creation and so many other ways. One of my favourite things to do is sit on the edge of a lake looking at some mountains. It’s my sacred place– somewhere I can see God’s character and creativity. Since I love creation so much, I wanted to learn more about what creation teaches us about God’s character. Continue to read as I share what I learned.

10 things Creation teaches us about God’s Character

1. Creative

Creation reflects God’s creativity and showcases His ability to bring a variety and intricate forms of life and beauty.

From the largest galaxies to the tiniest microorganisms, every aspect of creation reflects His endless imagination, creativity, and artistry.

This creativity shows us His ability to bring life in many different forms, each unique with a purpose.

For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.

    2. Powerful

When you think about the world around us and outer space- it’s hard to imagine how large and complex it all is. Creation testifies to God’s immense power.

The formation of stars, the orchestration of galaxies, and the dynamic forces of nature all reflect His supreme authority over the universe.

By the word of the Lord the heavens were made, their starry host by the breath of his mouth.

      3. Loves Order

The harmony and orderliness of creation reveal God’s wisdom and design.

The natural laws and systems that govern the world, such as gravity, the water cycle, and ecosystems, demonstrate His intentionality in maintaining balance and structure in the universe.

      4. Loving

God’s love is also evident in His provision for His creation. God sustains life through the earth’s resources, providing food, water, and shelter.

The specific relationships within ecosystems, such as pollination and symbiosis, also reflect His care and love.

The Lord is good to all; he has compassion on all he has made.

        Psalm 145:9

          6. Cares for us

God takes good care of everything He made, shown by how everything in nature relies on each other to stay balanced and healthy.

He provides for the needs of all living creatures, ensuring that every species has a role and purpose within the larger system.

          Bible Verses:

Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?

            Matthew 6:26

            7. Faithfull

The cyclical patterns of creation, such as the changing seasons and the rising and setting of the sun, testify to God’s faithfulness.

These consistent rhythms uphold the natural order and reflect His unwavering reliability.

Your faithfulness continues through all generations; you established the earth, and it endures.

              Psalm 119:90

              8. Sovereign

Creation also reveals God’s sovereignty over all things.

He reigns supreme over the heavens and the earth, directing the course of history according to His divine will. Nothing in creation is outside His control or authority.

                9. Transcendent

The vastness of space and the details of the smallest microorganisms offer a glimpse of God’s transcendence.

His greatness surpasses human understanding, and He exists beyond the limits of our understanding.

For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.”

                  10. God’s plan to Redeems us

Just as creation declares the glory of God, it also foreshadows the redeeming work of Christ.

The renewal and restoration of the fallen world through Jesus offers hope for a new creation, where all things will be made right.

For the creation waits in eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed. For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in the hope that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the freedom and glory of the children of God.

                    Conclusion

Creation is one of the ways God shows Himself to us. It shows us how big and creative He is. It reveals so much more than we can know.
